Let's just face it, there's a lot of planning in weddings. There's no way around it. With all that planning, it's easy to forget something. Maybe it slipped your and your planner's mind. It may have even not been thought of until the last moment. That's why I'm here to help! This is a list of some of the things that I've seen couples forget over the years.
- You need ALL 3 wedding rings for photos!
It's almost written in the books that you should hand your wedding bands over to the best man, matron of honor, or another member of the bridal party. This isn't ideal for photos! While rings can be photographed during the reception, the best lighting happens early in the day while you're still getting ready.
- Bouquets need to be delivered to you!
It's easy to overlook this one. Until I was a photographer and videographer, I didn't even think about this. This will help make the most out of your detail photos/video. It will help enhance every shot and, essentially, you'll be getting the most for your money!
- Get heel stoppers!
What is a heel stopper? That's an excellent question. It sounds just like what it is. When you're walking/standing for bridal portraits, it'll help prevent your high heels from sinking into the ground. You could also switch your heels out for some flats during this part of the day!
- A groom's details are just as important!
While this isn't directly involving a bride, it's just as important for them to know! In a lot of cases, a groom doesn't think that his detail photos are as important or he may not even know what details he has but there are SO many! Some of the most common details are: cuff links, socks, ties, shoes, boutonnière, cologne, alcohol, etc.
- Include your family!
In a lot of cases, moms specifically, don't feel like the play a super important role in the big day. Include them in everything you can! Every family dynamic is different, if it's not your mom, maybe it's your dad, sister, or brother! Let them help button up your dress or tie your groom's tie! One day you'll be so thankful to have those photos and they'll feel so grateful to have had an important part in your big day!
The most important thing is to ENJOY your day! It'll be over before you know it! Take a moment (or several) throughout the day to take it in! Take mental pictures of the sounds, smells, and sites!
